Diamonds of Humanity is a collection of stories, reflections, and life lessons that celebrate the qualities that bring meaning to our lives: kindness, compassion, gratitude, courage, resilience, leadership, dedication, and love.
Originally written as a gift for the author's children and grandchildren, this book grew from a desire to preserve life's most important lessons and pass them forward to future generations. It asks a simple question: What wisdom would you want your loved ones to carry with them long after you are gone?
From a childhood in Kolkata to a life in America caring for others, Akshay K. Talwar reflects on the quiet moments that shape who we become.
Through memories of family, sacrifice, kindness, loss, immigration, aging, and human connection, these stories reveal how ordinary moments often contain extraordinary lessons. They remind us that true wealth is measured not by what we accumulate, but by the lives we touch and the values we leave behind.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, caregiver, mentor, or simply someone reflecting on life's journey, these pages offer encouragement, perspective, and a renewed appreciation for what matters most.
Perhaps the greatest inheritance we leave is not wealth or possessions, but wisdom, character, and love.

Akshay K. Talwar was born in Kolkata, India, and came to America as a teenager, learning over time how to live between two worlds while feeling fully part of neither. Over time, he built a career as an attorney, CPA, and senior care executive, spending more than thirty years working with older adults and their families in Rhode Island.
Diamonds of Humanity began as a legacy for his grandchildren — not money or houses or things, but gems of wisdom gathered from an immigrant life. When his youngest grandchild was born, he started writing, not knowing how much time he would have with her.
He believes that most people, deep down, are looking for the same things: dignity, kindness, connection, and the hope that their lives mattered. He lives in Rhode Island with his family, still asking the same questions.

You can literally open it to any page and become immersed. I also really like the use of space on each page.

Absolutely loved this read! Every page, cover to cover. Simple people sharing simple life lessons that the Author held on to moving forward in his own life. In the end, the message is clear. "Be Kind……Always. “

What I appreciated most is that it's not a traditional autobiography told in chronological order. Instead, it felt more like listening to someone share the memories and experiences that come to mind as they reflect on their life. One story leads naturally to another, without worrying about whether it fits neatly into a timeline.
